Beware the Buzzwords: Why Real Marketing Results Still Matter
Revised: 06/19/2025
Let’s talk about “social media gurus.” Or influencers. Or “fractional CMOs.” Or “AI-powered digital disruptors.” Whatever they’re calling themselves this week.
They’re everywhere.
They’ve read one article about Threads or TikTok and suddenly they’re experts. They’ll tell you things like:
“You’re not leveraging your audience potential!”
“Your brand equity isn’t aligned with Gen Z engagement thresholds!”
“You need to synergize your omnichannel presence with real-time authenticity!”
Uh… what?
These people are often trying to sell you something, and the words they’re using are deliberately vague. It’s not about results, it’s about confusion. If you can’t quite tell what they do, you’re not alone. The fluff is the feature.
Let’s be clear: marketing isn’t magic. It’s not based on how many buzzwords someone can cram into a 15-minute sales pitch. It’s about clear strategy, compelling execution, and real results. If someone’s strategy sounds like a TED Talk written by ChatGPT, run.
Want to grow your business? Work with people who actually listen. Who ask questions. Who don’t overpromise and underdeliver. Because marketing, real marketing, isn’t about flash. It’s about fit.
Don’t get swept up in the trend-chasing tidal wave. Find a partner who builds with purpose, not pretense.
